my15 Bus Pulls Out All The Stops For Fairfield Pupils

By jack on the 2nd November 2018

Pupils from Fairfield Primary Academy in Stapleford were given their very own bus for a morning to boost their study of transport.

54 children aged five and six from Year 1 were taken on a my15 bus for a ride to our Langley Mill depot where they met drivers and mechanics and were even driven through the bus wash.

The visit came about after the youngsters created a bus station role play area in their classroom and sent us some great photos. Roadside officer Chris Plummer offered extra resources for the role play and delivered a personalised bus stop sign.

Year 1 teacher Emma Dickinson said: “When the my15 bus arrived we saw it had the school’s name on the digital sign – it was the school’s very own personalised bus. For some of our children it was their first time on a bus. We now have many young apprentice drivers eager to begin.

“Going through the bus wash was amazing. I even got to drive the bus and was so excited. The children loved it all. One commented ‘this is the best school trip I have ever been on’. “We want to thank everyone at trentbarton for this fantastic experience.

We had an incredible morning. trentbarton really is, the really good bus company.”

Chris said: “The Fairfield pupils had put a lot of creative work into their studying of buses and transport, so we were very pleased to treat them to their outing and we hope it helped their learning as well as being great fun.”
